Abstract: This research investigates the challenges faced by vocational students in Nigeria during their transition from education to the workforce, highlighting barriers and facilitators impacting their career readiness and employment outcomes. Vocational education equips students with practical skills, yet the transition from school to work poses unique challenges such as mismatched expectations, limited job market awareness, and insufficient career preparation support. The study aims to (1) identify key challenges encountered by vocational graduates in securing employment, (2) analyze factors influencing successful workforce integration, and (3) propose strategies for enhancing transition support and career guidance. A survey research design is employed to gather insights from vocational students, employers, and career counselors. A sample size of 400 participants will be selected through purposive sampling to represent recent graduates and employers across diverse sectors in Ondo State. Case studies will examine effective transition programs and initiatives. Findings revealed that gaps in career guidance, practical experience, and soft skills hinder vocational graduates' employment prospects. Recommendations include strengthening internship and apprenticeship opportunities, enhancing career counseling services, and fostering closer collaboration between educational institutions and industry to facilitate smoother transitions and improve employment outcomes for vocational students.
